It’s a place where the raw power of the Nile meets the quiet grace of wildlife roaming freely.

Trip Highlights
Explore the diverse ecosystems of Murchison Falls—from the dense Budongo Forest in the south to the open savannah of the northern plains. Witness the awe-inspiring spectacle of the Nile River as it crashes through a narrow gorge, forming the thunderous Murchison Falls. Keep your eyes peeled for elephants, giraffes, lions, buffaloes, and bushbucks, as well as hippos and crocodiles lounging along the riverbanks. Bird enthusiasts will also be thrilled with the park’s vibrant avian population. Whether on a game drive or a river safari, Murchison Falls offers a powerful connection to the wild heart of Africa.

Welcome to Murchison Falls National Park—the largest and one of the most iconic wildlife parks in Uganda. Spanning sweeping savannahs, riverine forests, and the powerful Nile River, this vast reserve is a haven for diverse wildlife and dramatic scenery. Your adventure begins with a visit to the park’s namesake feature: the spectacular Murchison Falls.
Here, the mighty Nile is forced through a narrow 7-meter-wide canyon, crashing down with thunderous force into the river below—an awe-inspiring natural wonder known as the “top of the falls.” Feel the mist on your face and the rumble in your chest as you take in panoramic views from this breathtaking vantage point.
After soaking in the power and beauty of the falls, you’ll continue through the park’s wild terrain and check into your lodge before sunset. Nestled within the park’s natural surroundings, your lodge offers the perfect blend of comfort and immersion in the Ugandan wilderness—setting the stage for the incredible wildlife experiences to come.

For those craving a deeper forest adventure, head into Budongo Forest Reserve for chimpanzee trekking. This lush, tropical forest is home to one of Uganda’s largest chimp populations, and with guidance from experienced trackers, you’ll follow clues—like distant calls or fresh nests—to locate these fascinating primates. Along the way, you may also encounter other forest residents such as red-tailed and black-and-white colobus monkeys. The forest is a birder’s paradise as well, with the chance to spot rare species like the Puvel’s illadopsis and chocolate-backed kingfisher.
